"The relationship between population, agriculture, and carbon dioxide emissions has been an issue of concern to scientists and institutions for many years. Concerns about the impact of population growth on the environment and agriculture go back several decades. As the world's population continued to grow, scientists and researchers became increasi...

This research addresses the problem of CO2, CH4, and N2O emissions in the EU for the 2008–2018 period, and their contributing factors, through extensive and complex analysis. The research incubated in the manuscript answers the question of whether new state members managed to catch up with old state members regarding technology innovation and mitig...

Vocational training and education are key component of economic and social progress, mainly in the current stage of development based on knowledge and digitalisation. The importance of the educational process for a sustainable development is more emphasized in Romania, on the one hand due to the internal economic and social gaps and on the other ha...

To meet the global challenges of climate change and human activity pressure on biodiversity conservation, it has become vital to map such pressure hotspots. Large areas, such as nationwide regions, are difficult to map from the point of view of the resources needed for such mapping (human resources, hard and soft resources). European biodiversity p...

urpose: This paper studies the relationships between air pollutants (PM10, PM2.5, N2O) and different diseases (tumors, skin and respiratory) and the factors influencing air pollutant emissions in Romania. Methods: The methods are Toda-Yamamoto procedure of non-causality Granger test, grey relational analysis and logarithmic mean Divisia index metho...

In general, the elaboration of the synthesis of water quality in Romania is based on the processing of a large volume of information coming from primary analytical data collected with a constant frequency by the organisms with a specific role in water quality monitoring. This study proposes a novel methodology for multi-criteria analysis aiming to...

Globally, ecosystems are constantly degrading as a result of pressures derived from human activities and climate change. For working towards the restoration of the natural balance, it is necessary to evaluate the deviations induced in the ecosystems, to identify where the changes took place, to know what is their amplitude and to decide where it is...
Article
Proper assessments of degradation for lotic ecosystems are of a great importance, given that they provide essential ecosystem services and host some of the most endangered habitats. Currently, one of the most frequently used ways to assess lotic ecosystems integrity is the Water Framework Directive. It implies but important investments in material...

Grassland agroecosystems play an important role in livestock farming and in maintaining biodiversity in European landscapes. The various ecosystem services that grasslands provide need to be shared between agricultural production and nature conservation. Grasslands have become increasingly degraded in the last century across Europe as well as world...

We present in the first part of the article types of utility functions that can describe the behavior of the investor and their applications to optimize portfolio. The second part of the paper refers to applications in calculating insurance premiums aggregated risk in zero utility principle.
Article
In this paper, by using the entropy maximization principle with Tsallis entropy, new distribution families for modeling the income distribution are derived. Also, new classes of Lorenz curves are obtained by applying the entropy maximization principle with Tsallis entropy, under mean and Gini index equality and inequality constraints.
Article
A new approach upon Lorenz curves for grouped data is proposed. In order to estimate the density of variables that represent groped data, the method of weighted maximum entropy is introduced. A comparison with the traditional approach on approximation of maximum entropy densities it is made and there are presented Monte Carlo simulations to prove t...
