Introduction
I am currently working on the Pooids systematics with a focus in one of the more recent tribes ‘Bromeae’ a relative to the cereals, that is one of my long-term projects. We are also interested in: *The systematics of neotropical ‘Carex’, *The Colombian Orchidaceae. In my Lab there are other main lines: plant conservation, lichen bioindication, floral biology, … Sistematics, plant conservation, science communication, and teaching innovation vertebrate the backbone of my profesional life.

Societal Impact Statement In some indigenous languages, plants are referred to as ‘those who care for us’, reflecting their essential role in tackling global challenges. Yet, urbanisation and other factors have reduced engagement with plants and botany, decreasing awareness, especially among students. To combat this, three botanists launched the Bo...

The fundamental value of universal nomenclatural systems in biology, and the key to their success, is that they have enabled unambiguous scientific communication among and across different cultures. These systems are codified in sets of rules for zoology, botany, and other branches of biology. Nomenclatural codes have been collectively developed fo...
