Introduction
PhD in Sport Sciences focused on futsal performance. My PhD was related on female futsal performance including four researches about: injury epidemiology, strategies and percepctions about injury prevention, workloads along a season in professional teams and a core training protocol to improve sport performance. At present, my research lines are about injury epidemiology in futsal, monitoring and managing training loads in team spots, improving sports performance in women athletes, analyzing the menstrual cycle in sports performance and designing training methods to improve sports performance.

The presence and popularity of physical activity and sport for women has considerably increased in the last decades, and thereby, the need for improving the knowledge about their physiology and adaptations to exercise has become crucial. Menstrual cycle, hormonal contraceptive or menopausal status seem to be influencing factors on the functional capacity of sportswomen and adaptations to training but limited information is available. The current project will try to provide some insights into this topic.
