The Swedish Alzheimer Treatment Study (SATS) was started to investigate the long-term effectiveness of cholinesterase inhibitor treatment in a routine clinical setting. The research is focused on statistical analyses and prediction models of the 1258 patients’ cognitive and functional response to therapy and the longitudinal outcome. Moreover, to study how socio-demographic and clinical factors, eg, disease severity, age, gender and years of education affect the outcomes and service utilisation.
