This study aims to produce Andrea Palladio’s architectural plan schemes autonomously with generative adversarial networks(GAN) and to evaluate the plan drawing productions of GAN as a generative plan layout tool. GAN is a class of deep neural nets that is a generative model. In deep learning models, repetitive processes can be automated. Architect...
This study explores the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in architectural education, reflecting on its transformative impact on design pedagogy. It reviews the evolution of digital technologies within architectural curricula, highlighting key phases from CAD/CAM to computational design thinking and the current era of AI. The research inv...
This paper explores the impact of furniture and machines on spatial organization and circulation systems in industrial buildings using space syntax analysis. While space syntax research covers various settings, industrial buildings have received limited attention. This study aims to address this gap by examining how machines and furniture influence...
Purpose
This study presents an ontological approach to assess the architectural outputs of generative adversarial networks. This paper aims to assess the performance of the generative adversarial network in representing building knowledge.
Design/methodology/approach
The proposed ontological assessment consists of five steps. These are, respective...
This paper uses a statistical approach to assess the proportional relations between 47 central-domed mosque plans of the architect Sinan. The statistical method is a feature selection method that demonstrates both the significant as well as the redundant features within a dataset by conducting correlation and lasso regression analyses. The analysis...
This chapter discusses the chronological developments in the interaction of the computational theory of architecture with artificial intelligence and cybernetics. While explaining these interactions, the social network analysis method is utilized. To generate the network, interactions are selected according to the references of the books, journals,...
Architecture a music share a common language through the common ground. Both
architecture and music is the abstract form of art that has been using the same
terminology as proportion, rhythm, structure, color, ratio, and so on. Within the
digitalization, interdisciplinary studies related to architecture and music become
widespread among architects,...
This study is a study on the evaluation of the methods by which the GAN algorithm is evaluated. Although GAN algorithm evaluation methods are accepted in the literature, it is still a question to be answered whether GAN evaluation methods can be used for evaluating the outputs of GAN training with a data set consisting of architectural plan schemes...
zet Bu çalışma kapsamında, mimarlık eğitiminde hesaplamalı (işlemsel) düşünce ve sistemlerinden yararlanılarak, farklı disiplinlerden lisansüstü öğrencilerin birlikte çalışarak tanımlanan probleme çözüm üretme sürecinde izledikleri yöntem açıklanmaktadır. Problem tabanlı çalışma yönteminin izlendiği ders kapsamında, öğrencilerden mekân akustiği köt...
This paper reports the results of a protocol study which explores behavior of designers while they design in pairs using sketching (analogue and remote) and 3D modelling tools (co-located and remote) in co-located and remote locations. The design protocol videos were collected, transcripted, segmented and coded with the customized coding scheme. Th...

With the development of the computer technology, new ways of model making become an alternative for the representation of the design ideas. In this paper, we present a new design platform based on the mobile augmented reality technology for a co-design situation. A marker-based mobile augmented reality platform for the early phase of the co-design...
