Introduction
I am a developmental neurobiologist who studies perinatal brain disorders - inflammatory, hypoxic/ischemic, traumatic. I focus on identifying novel mechanisms of injury mediated by the brains immune cells, microglia, and in testing neurotherapeutics.
My research interests currently include: the basic development of microglia; innovative approaches in delayed chronic pharmacologic interventions; and investigating the utility of a biocompatible hydrogel to regenerate neonatal stroke injury
