Introduction
My research is to study how and why employees share or hide tacit knowledge in the small family firm based on self-determination theory. The data was collected from 22 interviews in a single case study. The findings showed that knowledge sharing and hiding happened simultaneously but triggered by different reasons. Depending on different situations, confidence and trust could be autonomous or controlled motivations influencing on sharing, while organisational context may cause sharing or hiding.
