In this study, a cascaded cell disintegration process, based on pulsed electric fields (PEF - 20 kV/cm, 100 kJ/kgSUSP.) and high-pressure homogenization (HPH - 150 MPa, 5 passes) was designed for the efficient and selective release of intracellular compounds (water-soluble proteins, carbohydrates, and lipids) from C. vulgaris suspensions during ext...

Tetracycline (TC) is a widely known antibiotic used worldwide to ‘’treat animals. Its residues in animal-origin foods cause adverse health effects to consumers. Low-cost and real-time measuring systems of TC in food samples are, therefore, extremely needed. In this work, a three-electrode sensitive and label-free sensor was developed to detect TC r...
Conference Paper
Salivary pH is one of the indicators of the dental health of a person. To enable fast and easy dental health observations, we developed a flexible capacitive pH sensor using graphene oxide (GO) sensing layer on the laser-induced graphene (LIG) electrode produced from a polyimide (PI) film acting both as LIG precursor material and substrate. Cyclic...
Conference Paper
In this work, we realized a printed immunosensor based on a competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) to allow histamine detection. We investigated the effect of modifying the immunosensor electrodes with spray-deposited poly(3,4-ethyldioxythiophene)poly(styrenesulfunate) (PEDOT:PSS) and single walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) films. Cycl...
Conference Paper
Ochratoxin A (OTA) is one of the most widely known and highly toxic types of mycotoxins, able to contaminate different food products and result in serious health problems for consumers. It is therefore important to detect OTA using fast, simple and reliable techniques. In this work, bendable and stretchable selective OTA biosensors were screen-prin...

Furaneol is a widely used flavoring agent, which can be naturally found in different products, such as strawberries or thermally processed foods. This is why it is extremely important to detect furaneol in the food industry using ultra-sensitive, stable, and selective sensors. In this context, electrochemical biosensors are particularly attractive...

Abstract Heterocyclic amine histamine is a well-known foodborne toxicant (mostly linked to “scombroid poisoning”) synthesized from the microbial decarboxylation of amino acid histidine. In this work, we report the fabrication of a flexible screen-printed immunosensor based on a silver electrode coated with single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) fo...

Electrical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) is an emerging, fast, reliable and non-destructive technique for fruit quality assessment. In this paper, bio-impedance spectroscopy (BIS) measurements were carried out to monitor apple ageing evolution during a 12 days period using a microcontroller-based system. The data was extracted in the 100 Hz - 85 kHz...

The evaluation of fruit quality from the field to the table, through its storage, handling and transport has become of paramount importance to meet production and consumers demands. For this purpose, fast, reliable and low-cost non-destructive techniques are highly desirable, to avoid food waste and allow a real-time decision making. Among non-dest...

Detection of mycotoxins, especially aflatoxin M1 (AFM1), in milk is crucial to be able to guarantee food quality and safety. In recent years, biosensors have been emerging as a fast, reliable and low-cost technique for the detection of this toxin. In this work, flexible biosensors were fabricated using dispense-printed electrodes, which were functi...

Pulsed Electric Fields (PEF) and High Pressure Homogenization (HPH) are promising and scalable cell disruption technologies of microalgae cells. In this work, the permeabilization degree, morphological properties, and ex-tractability of intracellular compounds from microalgae Chlorella vulgaris suspensions (1.2%, w/w) were investigated as a functio...

Low cost evaporative cooling systems were developed and investigated for their cooling efficiency to improve the shelf life of tomatoes. Average cooling efficiencies of bamboo jute and pot in pot coolers before being loaded with tomatoes were 82% and 79% and after being loaded were 67.6% and 61.6%, respectively. Physiological weight losses were 1.0...

Question
I want to drop-cast β-cyclodextrin on top of SWCNT modified electrode and then immobilize antibody on the β-cyclodextrin. Is it possible?
Thank you in advance for the cooperation
Question
I am using E4990A Impedance analyzer (20Hz - 30MHz) to measure the EIS of some analyte using Ag electrode. In most of the articles, the frequency range is (0.1Hz to 10KHz). Since my instrument has a frequency range starts from 20 Hz, could it affect the reading and the result? The background chemical I am using is 1mM of ferri/ ferro couple.
Question
I am working on a impedimetric biosensor to measure the concentration of the analyte. the working electrode is immobilized with the analyte specific antibody. To measure the impedance, which electrode (working, counter or reference) electrodes will be connected?
