Case presentation:
After two ICU admissions and at the end of conventional care options for Covid-19 infection, this 71-year-ol...
Metabolic risks are a global challenge. These risks are although modifiable by lifestyle, and physical activity to some extent, they are primarily related to dietary consumption. Considering a clear relationship of diet and metabolic risk factors, we hypothesised that an evidence-based, and widely applicable solution may be found in Ayurvedic diete...

Talapotaka Churna is one of the best classical formulations mentioned for the treatment of Prameha in Vaidya Chintamani. Each of the ingredients has been proven classically and scientifically to be very effective in the management of Prameha and diabetes mellitus, respectively. The view of Acharya Vallabhacharya toward the management of Prameha is...
Introduction: The current demographic definitions for diabetes mellitus have not cited gender nor accounted for the possibility that healthy menstrual cycles may be a protective factor for the development of Type 2/noninsulin-dependent diabetes mellitus. The ancient physician Vallabhacharya posits that the monthly cycle of menstruation rids the blo...
The preparation of rasaushadhis represents one of the great challenges in preserving authentic Ayurvedic knowledge. If society wants to heal difficult diseases, the wisdom in pharmaceutic processes of ancient chemistry developed by the 8th century CE must be better appreciated and brought into the modern pharmacy age. With the increasing demand for...
The value of the five senses, known as the pancha-jnana-indriya, is undervalued today. In an almost religious worship of objectivity and randomized clinical trials, we have forgotten the importance of observation and experiential science, which formed the basis for Ayurvedic medical science. The concept of bio-electronic gadgets is introduced, as t...
The presentation described about efficiency status of Herbo-mineral drugs in Ayurveda
Ayurvedic pharmacy education is a neglected course in the Ayurvedic eco system. Constant apathy by the law maker in drafting a uniform code for the Ayurvedic pharmacy education system is destroying the great potentiality for the course.
Ancient Ayurveda gave us tools to keep our eyes healthy through the toils of the day, emphasizing the prevention of disease through daily maintenance and periodic rituals that strengthen the eyes. The first was washing the eyes with cold water in the early-morning routine, keeping solid and stable the oils and fat that comprise the eyes.
Traditional Ayurveda processes during the making of a formulation account for each and every material and each of its properties in context of the larger environment from which it is taken and to which it belongs. Modern pharmacy, in contrast, focuses on chemical constituents only at the moments of time when processing is measured. A wide variety o...
Modern medicine touts an approach using evidenced-based medicine, implying that other medical systems rely on beliefs, dogma, assumptions, or "unscientific" principles that lack evidence. Observational experience and clinical acumen depend on exploration using the five senses, through which experiential evidence is accumulated. Ayurvedic vaidyas we...
Nanorobots are tiny devices programmed by man for a particular function. Similarly, bhasmas are programmed by man to work with particular precision. Through the processes of mardana and bhavana, herbs with affinities to specific parts of the body with specific known actions are added to a metal as its therapeutic properties are released. Since anci...
Pay particular attention to your health, but too much coddling of the body will, on the contrary, also spoil the health. If there is not the strength of knowledge, nobody would care two-pence for your ringing of the bell.'1 ery few people can say that they know no one with any chronic disease. The karma and comfort of modern life has created societ...
Everyone knows Ojas, yet few know Ojas. Ojas is that state of well-being in which the body-mind reflects true strength through resilience and vitality that keeps it healthy and supple and prevents decay and degeneration of the body. There is a connection between the mind and the body that develops self-esteem, knowledge of self, and an inner power,...
How do we resolve conflicts between allopathic thinking and the system of medicine that is Ayurveda?
How do we find bridges between allopathic thinking and Ayurveda? Using a Fulbright grant as a gateway to enter the silos of knowledge, and then exit and share is one of the best ways to bring knowledge across borders.
Urticaria, like most skin rashes that are a result of the inflammatory system gone awry, is considered primarily a pitta disorder in Ayurveda. Some vata imbalance also occurs, due to spread to the edges of the body, and kapha disturbance from buildup of immune components in local areas around the hives. In Sanskrit, urticaria is known as sheeta pit...
The validity of herbometallic bhasmas described in Ayurveda is nowhere acknowledged by biomedical science. To unravel the knowledge of bhasmas, an algorithm integrating ayurveda- and science-based experiments needs to connect the basic science of rasa shastra, the study of herbometallic medicines in ayurveda, to clinical data.
An Ayurvedic View of Elements of Sustainable Integration
Alternative medicines are popular because of the dark reality of medical orthodoxy and the system it has created. Patients are not happy with the way medicine is being doled out, from the choices they don’t get, to the informed consents papers they are forced to sign, to the costs they don’t know until the bill comes, to the audacious self-aggrandi...

This module provides suggested activities and resources for students interested in moving beyond didactic and experiential work in CAM. Interest in complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) has grown significantly in the United States. In response, numerous medical and nursing schools are now offering CAM courses. The implications of biodiversity loss for the global environment have been widely discussed, but only recently has attention been paid to its direct and serious effects on human health. Biodiversity loss affects the spread of human diseases, causes a loss of medical models, diminishes the supplies of raw materials for drug discovery and biotechnolo...
A fluorescent staining technique, the B-body test, is utilized to ascertain the proportion of male and female spermatozoa in separated semen. This test is also used to monitor progress of Thermal Convection Counterstreaming Sedimentation and Forced Convection Galvanization processes for separating heavier electropositive (female) and lighter electr...
Using particle free semen extender and applying a low temperature thermal convection laminar flow to bring the sperm cells in vertical orientation and allowing them to act through the center of buoyancy, a bimodal distribution was achieved. Laser scanner for observing sedimentation pattern and F-body technique for identification of male sperm were...
