Most of the times peer review process delays publication of some scientific facts and delay in publication leads to late benifts or less benifits to society. Sometimes peer reviewers forces their idiology or thought to authors for selection of their article for publication which dilutes the originality of works and thoughts, the authors wants to represent. Every author itself is peer for the work which carried out by team. If authors are given freedom to express their original thoughts in timely manner, society can get original thoughts or works earliest which can help to bring or build new concept or research based on previous one.
Question
A double blind placebo controlled randomized clinical trial of Trikatu churna(Ayurveda medicine) and lifestyle modification in management of obesity.---–Ethical or not?
The patients in clinical trial will be included having BMI bewtween 25-30.
One group will receive Trikatu Churna(Ayurveda Medicine) plus lifestyle modification and another group will receive placebo plus lifestyle modification.
Roasted sooji powder will be given as a placebo.
Both Trikatu and sooji powder will be encapsulated in identical capsule in equal quantity.
Is this study design ethically sound or requires any modification or any other changes ?
Kindly give your valuable suggestions.
