Introduction
My broad interest covers large parts of Physics, Mathematics and Engineering. I just started with an Aspirant FWO position at the Condensed Matter Theory (CMT) group of F. Peeters and B. Partoens at Uantwerp to study the emergent flat-bands in strained multilayer graphene and transition-metal-dichalcigonides (TMD).

Thesis

Many body problems are a much-studied subject in the field of Solid-State Physics. The rapid growth of complexity in these problems often prohibits finding an exact solution. Quantum mechanical entanglement makes it very hard to make a numerical calculation. Matrix product states allow to develop numerical methods that start from this entanglement....
Thesis

The gravitational interaction between Bose-Eintstein condensates in a symmetrical double potential well is theoretically derived from the Schrödinger-Newton equation. The Hamiltonian obtained for this interaction is of the same shape as the Hamiltonian where the Bose-Einstein condensate tunnels between both potential wells. The oscillations obtaine...
