Introduction
Dr. Bernd L. Fiebich is head of the Neuroinflammation and Neurochemistry Research Group at the Laboratory of Translational Psychiatry, Depart. of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, University Hospital Freiburg. He is biologist by training (Albert-Ludwig-University Freiburg) with a focus on genetics, dev. biology, and cell biology working on paternal mutants of C. elegans in his diploma thesis. His doctoral thesis was performed at the Department of Molecular Cell Biology at Gödecke/Parke-Davies AG/Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg on the expression of PKC isoforms and VEGF in baculovirus. The research area of Dr. Fiebich is neuroinflammation in psychiatric and neurodegenerative diseases with a focus on microglia, cell signalling, arachidonic acid cascade, neurotoxins, and natural products.
