Sleep and the hippocampus are two issues which were both related to the problem of memory processes. Based on the available experimental data it can be assumed that sleep has a favourable influence on the process of memory consolidation, and the hippocampus has a crucial role in this effect. Here we aim to unravel the neural activity patterns of the human mediotemporal structures during different sleep-waking states. We aim to provide electrophysiological data in order to support model building.
