Introduction
I am a social scientist with experience in rural, urban and peri-urban settings in Mexico. My work includes sustainable development projects, socio-environmental conflict management, environmental education, and social research. I am currently focusing my research on waste management strategies in the peri-urban interface, with a focus on institutional arrangements and links to urbanization processes and environmental behavior in the Global South. My aim is to further understand how people relate to place in the peri-urban interface and how we can foster environmental stewardship as we transform the landscape. I have experience with qualitative participatory action-research methods and am currently exploring Photovoice and Participatory mapping.
