Annotated list of 54 species from eleven genera and three subfamilies of family Pipunculidae is given.Ten species of big-headed flies have been collected by window traps at three localities in southern Iran. Tomosvaryella israelensis De Meyer, 1995 and T. minuscula (Collin, 1956) are firstly recorded from Iran.
