A solar water heating system is a device that takes energy from the sun radiation to raise the water temperature for use of water supply in the home. Water heating is the second-largest household electricity user. Replacing EWHs with a SWHs with an electrical backup can reduce electricity usage. An experimental setup and POLYSUN program were used f...
Solar air heating system is a solar thermal technology in which the energy from the sun isolation is captured by an absorbing medium and used to heat air. Solar air system considers as a renewable energy heating technology which is used to heat or condition air for buildings or process heat applications. It is typically the most cost-effective out...
The demand for electric power is significantly high during the hot summer season. Electric-power output of simple cycle gas turbines vary according to the inlet conditions. The amount of these variations greatly affects the production of electricity. Therefore, the variation of inlet temperature will effect on the electric power production. For thi...
The purpose of this paper is to compare between (hand calculation) and HAP programs for building cooling load for thermal comfort, humidity comfort, ventilation, and air filtration. This project is developed to find the best way to apply the concept of (HVAC) system design in Erbil Polytechnic University/ Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Engineer...
The present work deals with the development of a thermal composite insulation by using concrete as the main component with a number of thermal insulation materials, including polyester, cork, chaff, rice husk, sheep manure, sheep wool, glass, cotton, wax and emulsion resin. Various mechanical and thermal properties of the composite insulation are e...
Experimental study of steady state natural convection heat transfer from vertical, horizontal and inclined heated cylinder with different cross sectional area situated in a vented enclosure, opened from the top and the bottom is performed. The experiments results are obtained for the range of Rayleigh number (3.47 × 103 to 5.66 × 104), Nusselt numb...
Thermal radiation and free convection heat transfer from horizontal and vertical heated cylinder at atmospheric different vacuum pressure were investigated experimentally. The main concerns were effect of lowering applied pressure on convection and radiation heat transfer. Experiments carried out in enclosed area, pressure applied started at atmosp...
