Defending causal presentism as an economically unified theory of temporal existence that explains the passage of time and gives direction to time. Causal presentism is a fusion of an axiom for forward-directed causality and an axiom for temporal existence (presentism). Presentism states that only the present instantial temporal stage of the Universe exists and all its parts exist absolutely simultaneously. The defence against a priori criticism against presentism is carried out by showing that if you genuinely commit to presentism, the criticism does not hold. The only a posteriori threat to presentism (and its only genuine challenge in general) is the theory fo relativity which violates absolute simultaneity and is typically interpreted to entail eternalism, the doctrine that the past and future exist as well as the present; against this threat, presentism is defended by showing that it is compatible with the Dynamic Universe physics model which is in turn economically unified with respect to relativistic physics.
