The clinical trial is a randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blinded pilot study, which will examine whether the oral application of the synthetic cannabinoid Nabilone has positive effects on the reduced quality of life and the pain perception of spinal fusion patients. By modulating important factors (e.g. sleep, pain, depression, appetite, muscle relaxation) that have an impact on the pre- and post-operative well-being of our patients, Nabilone could help in coping with surgery and post-operative pain and lead to a higher satisfaction with the therapeutic outcome.
