Introduction
I achieved my PhD in 2012 from the School of Computer Science at the University of Nottingham, Nottingham, UK. Graduated from the Faculty of Engineering 1988. Studied a Computer Science Diploma in 1990 at the American University in Cairo (AUC). Worked in the software and IT industries. Started academic teaching at AUC in 1991 and at Misr International University (MIU) since 2000. Now I'm an assistant Professor in Computer Science at Misr International University.

The domains of positioning and tracking have undergone substantial evolution and advancements recently, especially within the concept of the Internet of Things (IoT) and in health care. Unfortunately, neither the current satellite positioning systems nor the standalone cellular systems remain useful for successfully localizing and tracking inside b...

The increase of data communication globally requires secure exchange of private information. Steganography is a common form of information hiding from an unauthorized access. Secret messages can be in different ways and file formats such as: images, texts, audios, and videos. Transmitting secret messages is important for trading private information...

In videos, description and keywords play an important role in the choosing process of the right video to watch. The main idea of the proposed approach is to generate descriptions and timestamps for videos automatically. Our approach plays an essential role in reducing the time consumed searching for the proper video. It aims to save time for users...

Cloud-based technologies are driving positive changes in the way organizations can communicate. In running a global business, the need for travel and being available in meetings is a must. However, with expensive travel costs, an alternative solution to overcome this problem is required. This paper presents, a new approach that enhances current 2D...

The main purpose of this research is to establish a Computer Aided Diagnostic (CAD) approach for the detection and classification of Oral Epithelial Dysplasia. The disturbances that occur in the epithelial layers is diagnosed as premalignant dysplasia. The epithelial dysplasia diagnosis, in-terms of accuracy, is pathologically difficult and contrib...

3D video call is a set of technologies, which allow a caller to feel the depth of the other caller and to give the real-life feeling. 3D video call is a developing technology that can be presented by peer-to-peer architecture. Cloud-based technologies are driving positive changes in the way organizations can communicate. In running a global busines...

The connection of physical objects to the Internet makes it feasible to access remote sensor data and to control the physical world remotely. The Internet of Things (IoT) is based on this concept. A smart object, which is the main element of the Internet of Things, is just another name for an embedded system that is connected to the Internet. Locat...

In Recent years, Cloud Computing has considered as a potential technology in software industry as a resource base. Cloud Computing provides many advantages for organizations and companies to increase their profit in many fields and perspectives. One of these fields is Software Testing. In Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Software Testing is...

Nowadays, navigation is an important application in smartphones. However, locating a mobile is an imperative task, because the GPS signal is easily corrupted. Pedestrian Dead Reckoning (PDR), is a relative positioning approach using step length and heading estimation. Step length is changing while a pedestrian does different movements. To accuratel...

Optical character recognition (OCR) shows great potential for rapid data entry, but has limited success when applied to the Arabic language. Traditional OCR problems are compounded by the nature of Arabic language and because the script is heavily connected. A machine learning, Haar cascade classifier (HCC) approach was introduced by Viola and Jone...

Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is an important technology. The Arabic language lacks both the variety of OCR systems and the depth of research relative to Roman scripts. A machine learning, Haar-Cascade classifier (HCC) approach was introduced by Viola and Jones (Viola and Jones 2001) to achieve rapid object detection based on a boosted cascad...

Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is an important technology and has many advantages in storing information for both old and new documents. The Arabic language lacks both the variety of OCR systems and the depth of research relative to Roman scripts. An authoritative corpus is beneficial in the design and construction of any OCR system. Lexicon a...

Optical Character Recognition (OCR) shows great potential for rapid data entry, but has limited success when applied to the Arabic language. Normal OCR problems are compounded by the right-to-left nature of Arabic and because the script is largely connected. This research investigates current approaches to the Arabic character recognition problem a...

Traditionally, a corpus is a large structured set of text, electronically stored and processed. Corpora have become very important in the study of languages. They have opened new areas of linguistic research, which were unknown until recently. Corpora are also key to the development of optical character recognition (OCR) applications. Access to a c...

Electronic Document Management (EDM) technology is being widely adopted as it makes for the efficient routing and retrieval of documents. Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is an important front end for such technology. Excellent OCR now exists for Latin based languages, but there are few systems that read Arabic, which limits the penetration of E...
