Introduction
Attained Doctorate on the Indian Hornworts in order to resolve the problem of the ambiguously understood taxonomy of these plants in the Indian context. carrying out work on taxonomy of all the bryophyte groups with conservational aspects and ecological implication of these plants. Tried to contribute in bryology by publishing about 190 research publications including two monographs and three books. Explored nearly all the phytogeographical regions of India and botanical hotspots.
