In the last few years, self- and peer-assessment have been increasingly employed not only as an evaluation method, but also as a learning procedure. The consistency and difference between self- and peer-assessments as compared to instructor-assessments have been previously studied, and a friendship bias was discovered. In this study, we introduce e...

Effective knowledge management is one of the major challenges in all kinds of organizations. Given that, it is the people in the organization - and not the organization itself- who acquire and generate knowledge, in the end knowledge management becomes an issue of people management, aiming at making people aware of the benefits in sharing knowledge...

Experience using active rules in database systems has shown that, while such rules can be utilised beneficially in a range of applications, it is not a straightforward task to implement, debug or maintain large rule bases. It is thus important for active rule systems to provide debugging and explanation facilities for two reasons: to inform the use...

Web: https://tiny.cc/recrea The content generated by students during their learning process, not only helps them to learn while doing, but can be useful for the learning of peers. Peer learning combined with student contents is a field of research full of unexplored possibilities. We intend to explore various contexts including student generated questions in collaboration, or writing of technical documents using templates and selected pieces of peers texts as examples. In addition to post-morten analysis using classic statistical methods, we will use other interesting tools such as provenance, data mining and business intelligence.

Web: https://tiny.cc/cpfg The final project, or FP, is an integral part of many university programs in various disciplines and organizations and can take different approaches. Although it may be seen as an ordinary subject, the fact is that it has distinguishing features and pose specific problems. In some curricula there are certain courses that are closely related with the FP, as methodological subjects where the correct process to achieve the result of a work is studied. For example, courses about project management in engineering. Very often the result of a FP is a product, service or study for a given company, previously requested by it. In addition, in many degrees there are internships that usually have the FP as a natural continuation. This project has three overall objectives. The first is to act on final degree projects. In the first place we will analyze what impact have on the quality of projects the organization of internships in a company. In the organization studied, a project is proposed as a natural continuation of them. Secondly we will develop a system that complements the task of supervisors while report of the normative procedure in time, it also serves as a repository of documents generated and times when they are generated. It will also show the evolution of the projects to the students and also information about the progress throughout the project to the evaluation committee. The second objective is to analyze the influence of telecollaborative experiences between students from different universities in project management courses related to the implementation of the FP. The experiences that we will implement include external peer assessment and the study of the influence, compared to the internal peer, in the motivation. Also we will implement other experience on peer reviewing including the assessment of experts in the feedback received at the end of the projects and their influence on the subject results. The third objective is the analysis of the impact of practices in companies in the subjects taught simultaneously and compare their influence with what happens in courses where this subject has fewer students. The main expected results includes a study on the quality of FP made in company, a second study on the influence on the quality of the FP of the web system developed, a third study on the influence of the valuations of external peers in the quality of the products obtained, a fourth study on the influence of feedback received from experts from the professional world and a final study on the influence of internships in companies in the rest of the subjects of the degree.
