In settings varying from transport networks to communication networks, a
fundamental goal of network design has been to achieve high throughput. While
myriad network designs have been proposed, particularly in the data center and
HPC networking communities, a consistent and accurate method of predicting a
design's throughput performance and compari...
With high throughput networks acquiring a crucial role in supporting
data-intensive applications, a variety of data center network topologies have
been proposed to achieve high capacity at low cost. While this literature
explores a large number of design points, even in the limited case of a network
of identical switches, no proposal has been able...
We introduce a protocol which routes on flat, location-independent
identifiers with guaranteed scalability and low stretch. Our design builds on
theoretical advances in the area of compact routing, and is the first to
realize these guarantees in a dynamic distributed setting.
Industry experience indicates that the ability to incrementally expand data
centers is essential. However, existing high-bandwidth network designs have
rigid structure that interferes with incremental expansion. We present
Jellyfish, a high-capacity network interconnect, which, by adopting a random
graph topology, yields itself naturally to increme...
We recently presented a highly advantageous DCN architecture that supports on-demand, run-time topology malleability using WDM and optical space/wavelength switching technologies. We further investigate some implementation-related issues including scalability, hop-by-hop latency and optical power budget.
In the current Internet, there is no clean way for affected parties to react to poor forwarding performance: to detect and assess Service Level Agreement (SLA) violations by a contractual partner, a domain must resort to ad-hoc monitoring using probes. Instead, we propose "Network Confessional," a new, systematic approach to the problem of forwardi...
Low-power and high-speed discrete cosine transform (DCT) implementation of the images captured by the satellites presents a hardware design problem. The cost of the DCT implementation is dominated by the complexity of the multiplication of input data (image) with the DCT matrix. The techniques for minimising the complexity of multiplication by empl...
A minimal-difference differential coefficients method is presented for low power and high-speed realisation of differential-coefficients-based finite impulse response filters. The conventional differential coefficients method (DCM) uses the difference between adjacent coefficients whereas we identify the coefficients that have the least difference...
This paper and its companion paper (entitled Part II - algorithm) together present techniques for low power realization of finite impulse response (FIR) filters using improved differential coefficients method (DCM). This paper presents the analysis of the complexity of the coefficient multiplier in DCM. The companion paper describes our algorithm a...
This paper and its companion paper (entitled part I - complexity analysis) together present techniques for low power realization of finite impulse response (FIR) filters using minimal difference differential coefficients method (DCM). This paper describes our algorithm and presents design examples. The companion paper presents the necessary foundat...
Lichen planus is a common disorder and 40-50% of LP patients also reveal mucosal lesions. It is well known that mucosal LP lesions take very long to heal in comparison to cutaneous lesions. Rarely erosive mucosal LP can turn malignant. Both CMI and humoral immunity may play role in aetiopathogenesis of LP. Present study was conducted to study and c...
A comparison of mechanical properties and microstructure of four metal ceramic alloys in as-cast and heat-treated conditions resulted in significant differences. The alloys that were tested included two nickel-based and two cobalt-based metal ceramic alloys. Mechanical properties tested included strength, percent elongation and hardness. Ten tensil...
15 cases of subcorneal pustular dermatosis (SPD) were observed during June to October 1992. 5 were fresh cases and 10 were old patients with relapses. Seasonal variation with relapses only during successive summer months was observed. Histopathology revealed typical subcorneal pustules filled with neutrophils in 10/15 cases. All patients responded...
Fifty patients of alopecia areata were studied to find out their T cell count and serum immunoglobulin levels as compared to normal individuals. It was found that T cell forming E Rossettes were significantly decreased and there was also significant depression of serum IgG in patients of alopecia areata.
A comparative evaluation of the relative efficacy of topical DNCB and topical PUVASOL was carried out in 50 patients with Alopecia areata (AA). Aim was to establish the better and more suitable regime for treatment of AA. 16/25 (64%) and 19/25 patients (76%) responded to topical DNCB and topical PUVASOL respectively. Long standing AA patients respo...
