Introduction
My current research focuses on 'Modelling the effect of Spruce Budworm outbreaks on the spatial structure of boreal mixed wood stands' which is a part of my Masters research at the Universite de Quebec en Abitibi Temiscamingue.
Beside this, we are conducting study on the mammal and herpetofauna ecology in the tropical forest of Bangladesh. The mammal study focuses on the carnivore species whereas another study is going on the spatial ecology of Burmese Python and Elongated Tortoise.

Asian pangolins are a highly-threatened species group, mainly due to the perceived medicinal value of their scales. Increased demand from China has resulted in pangolins being the most trafficked mammal in the world. Three pangolin species are reported to occur in Bangladesh: Manis pentadactyla, M. crassicaudata, and M. javanica. No peer-reviewed s...
Tropical forests are considered one of the most important biogeographic zones for amphibian species diversity. As a tropical country in Asia, Bangladesh implements different types of forest management practices in its tropical forests, which might affect prevailing forest quality in the existing forest types. The current state of information is not...
An annotated inventory of the herpetofauna of Lawachara National Park in Bangladesh is presented, based primarily on original field observations recorded during a six-year survey of the park. A total of 71 species are reported, including 19 Anura, one Apoda, two Chelonii, and 49 Squamata. The course of the survey revealed 16 range extensions includ...
The Asian small-clawed otter (Aonyx cinereus) is globally vulnerable and endemic to South and Southeast Asia. Although research on this species is still in its early stages, recent discoveries of new populations in the western cusp of Indo-Burma Biodiversity Hotspot, shed light on its ability to thrive in human-altered habitats. To understand how t...
The Asian small-clawed otter (Aonyx cinereus) is a globally vulnerable mesopredator endemic to South and Southeast Asia. This species is one of the least studied and smallest of all 13 otter species. The species is tolerant of least-aquatic conditions and reported across a wide range of habitats. Its ecology is not fully and methodically deciphered...
Research in boreal ecology is essential for the development of sustainable forestry and practices adapted to climate change. It is in this perspective that the MRC Abitibi and UQAT have joined forces to create the Groupe de recherche en écologie de la MRC Abitibi (GREMA). GREMA's research program is structured around three themes: the silviculture...
Biodiversity in tropical and subtropical forests are at high risk of decline due to rapid anthropogenic development. Planned activities that potentially benefit communities near forests are often undertaken at the expense of forest biodiversity. Recently, the Government of Bangladesh released plans to develop a safari park in Lathitila forest in no...
The Indian leopard Panthera pardus fusca is Critically Endangered in Bangladesh. Presence of the country’s second largest cat is based on speculations and its population is often considered to be unviable. No specific studies on Bangladesh’s leopard population have been conducted. Thus, scant empirical data for this range country exists. Here, we p...
The spatial configuration of individual trees can affect their growth and survival at a fine scale and change the forest composition and structure at the landscape scale. Thus, understanding the stand spatial dynamics is crucial for forest management. The use of SORTIE-ND, a spatially explicit individual-based forest simulator, allows predictions o...
First record of XENOCHROPHIS CERASOGASTER (Painted Keelback Snake) in Sylhet Division, Bangladesh.

KHADIMNAGAR NATIONAL PARK(KNP) is located in Northeast portion of Bangladesh. And it is situated under Indo-Burma Hotspot .Its land area is about 1700 Acre.
Basically I have three objectives in this project.
These are-
1. Documentation of the amphibians species in KHADIMNAGAR NATIONAL PARK (KNP) using current taxonomy.
2. To determine the conserva...

I am running GLM on my dataset. As the dataset hs over-dispersion and have less number of data point then required i need to use QAICc value to chose the best model.
For example, if i have one dependent variable and four independent variable and i want to see which variable can explain my dependent variable.
I would like to check correlation between a dependent and independent variable. My dependent variable data set is showing skewed distribution. So definitely I will go for non-parametric test. But if I log transformed them then what type of test should I conduct?
That means if I want to study on 'Effect of environmental variable on SALAMANDER ecology', I will take plot only at the place where I find them. The place where I don't find them will not count as my plot.
In a forest, not all areas contain frog communities. On the other hand many area contain an ideal habitat for them. I just want to exhibit this in a map.
