Introduction
Angela Torresan is a lecturer in Visual Anthropology at the Granada Centre for Visual Anthropology, University of Manchester, UK. She is currently doing research on slum gentrification, securitisation, resistance to police violence and justice denied. She has previously worked with international migration, mainly middle-class Brazilian migration to Europe (London and Lisbon), notions of home and identity. Visual media, mainly films, are a main vector for her research practice.
