This research aims to share the benefits of Spirulina extract in most recent biomedical applications and promote its enriched pool of natural products. In fact, it makes it suitable for many different indications because, according to Spirulina extract historical chronology, it proved its significant and promising results in fighting against many diseases although it is an extract, which seems to be a potential medicine since the extract reflected many valuable health benefits on humankind. It seems ambiguous since everyone is asking this question now, which is “how can a single extract have all of these functions?”. The short-term goal is to provide a literature review on the effective delivery suggestions for maximising the therapeutic outcomes of existing Spirulina tablet products. The outcome from the delivery optimisation will reveal many hidden pharmacological functions possessed by Spirulina’s constituents, which would be a golden opportunity for medicinal chemists to derive many potential lead compounds out of Spirulina’s enriched pool of natural products, which eventually could be implemented on various targets in the human body. Besides, this research covers the pharming and cultivation processes till the late GMP processes for product production, including the prospects of industry 5.0 in biomanufacturing. On the other hand, for the long-term goal, we anticipate that potential isolated “dose-dependent” lead compounds could make it to the clinical phase, and those lead compounds could possess various functions and be implemented in numerous biomedical applications. For instance, in latest literature reviews, which included molecular docking simulation studies, in fact, resulted in large negative “G” values from Spirulina natural product compounds in fighting against COVID-19 proteases enzymes’ active site. Another example, Spirulina protein-based lead compounds proved significant results as antihypertensive medicines targeting the angiotensin-converting enzyme, and many more examples are present in the upcoming literature review.
