Introduction
Andrew Dillon is the V.M. Daniel Professor of Information Sciencei at the School of Information, University of Texas at Austin. Andrew conducts research in Media Psychology, Design and Human Information Behavior. His main focus is on the psychology and impact of information representations, user experience design, and the augmentation effects of information in human activities. He is co-editor of the journal Information & Culture, and also serves on the editorial boards of Interacting with Computers and the Journal of Documentation.

I am embarking on a new book for Routledge exploring the nature of humans as information users through time. This involves breaking out of the bounded view of humans as physical, perpetual, cognitive or social beings to represent each of us as manifesting all these levels. This book aims to deliver a conception of 'users' that fully represents our humanity, not just our task performance. This work is due to delivered to the publisher in summer 2021.
