Comprender la relación entre los patrones de diversidad taxonómica de plantas del sotobosque y la ganadería en el bosque chaqueño semiárido a distintas escalas (desde una escala de sitio a jerarquías menores).

Los ambientes semiáridos (bosques secos, monte, etc) representan la mayor proporción de ambientes naturales del NOA, y se caracterizan por presentar diferentes grados de degradación debido a perturbaciones como la ganadería, extracción de leña e incendios. Los ambientes perturbados se regeneral naturalmente en mayor o menor medida, y es posible acelerar dicha recuperación utilizando técnicas de restauración. Para que dichas técnicas sean exitosas, deberían basarse en mecanismos ecológicos probados empíricamente. En este proyecto, evaluaremos distintas técnicas de restauración ecológica para promover la recuperación de sitios afectados por del ganado doméstico en el bosque chaqueño semiárido. Además, investigaremos los requerimientos germinativos de arbustos potencialmente nodriza, para realizar en el futuro acciones de reforestación en sitios sobrepastoreados.
