Background: People with intellectual disability in Chile face individual and collective barriers to social participation. Lack of knowledge about their rights and tools for effective self-advocacy seem to be key elements that need to be improved to facilitate participation. Background: Given the importance of adaptive behaviour (AB) for the identification of intellectual disability and the design of intervention plans for people with Down syndrome (DS), this cross- sectional study explored AB in infants with DS, compared to infants with typical development (TD). Method: we evaluated 60 infants (10–36 months) with ABAS...

Home Literacy Environment (HLE) plays a fundamental role in the development of reading and writing skills in children. Evidence suggests differences in HLE components based on cultural and idiosyncratic characteristics. Most studies show a relationship between contextual variables with the quality of HLE in typically developing (TD) children. There...

Locked-in syndrome is a condition where a person is unable to move but has preserved cognition. While it is not common, the existence of potential performers with this condition questions the very nature of performing. Most of the time it depends on moving the body: a musician playing her instrument, a dancer swirling through the stage, a live code...
