Andreas Weilinghoff is a research assistant / PhD student at the Technical University of Dortmund (English Linguistics). His main areas of research are Scottish English, sociophonetics, forced alignment & ASR technology. In his PhD project, he investigates vowel length patterns in Scottish English (Scottish Vowel Length Rule / Aitken’s Law). The project makes use of different data sources and analyses the effects of social and prosodic factors. Private website:
