Combined heat and power (CHP) can achieve fuel efficiencies of up to 90% and is thus considered as economically advantageous and ecologically sound compared to uncoupled power and heat generation. This advantage is exploited only if CHP plants are operated as much as possible at their optimal operation point. Increasing penetration by variable rene...
A flexible coupling of power and heat sectors can contribute to both renewable energy integration and decarbonization. We present a literature review of model-based analyses in this field, focusing on residential heating. We compare geographical and temporal research scopes and identify state-of-the-art analytical model formulations, particularly c...

I would like to screen any approaches in which researchers modelled energy efficiency in energy system models (ESM) since I am interested to integrated the feature of energy efficiency into an equilibrium model with multiple fuels. Energy efficiency measures may take place on the demand side as well as on the supply side.
Thanks a lot for any hints concerning this issue!
I know very good literature overviews concerning power Transmission Expansion Planning (TEP), however I am looking now for something similiar for GEP.
I would like to programme and compute a combination between transmission and power plant expansion planning in GAMS. For a given transmission network and a given power plant park the system is supposed to compute the optimal energy generation dispatch beeing able to weigh up between network expansion (additional circuits on existing line connections) and the investment into new power plants.
I'm trying to find a way to optimize power transmission expansion planning in a given network topology. The problem is to be programmed in GAMS with the simplified DC model approach where the optimal power plant dispatch is also optimized.
Expansions of the transmission network could be either the adding of circuits of existing lines or the voltage upgrade of existing lines.
