Project
The aim of the project is to study the mechanisms of mass development of planktonic and benthic algae and assess the environmental risks of declining ecological status and degradation of resource groups in marine ecosystems of Ukraine. the main tasks of the project are: 1. On the basis of historical and modern data to investigate the relationship of climatic anomalies with outbreaks of "blooming" of micro- and macroalgae in the marine waters of Ukraine. 2. Describe the mechanisms of dyssynchronization of outbreaks of "flowering" of short-cycle (phytoplankton) and long-cycle (phytobenthos) components of aquatic vegetation to establish temporal differences and features of the manifestation of this process in benthal and pelagic. 3. To establish the consequences of "blooming" of algae for resource groups in the waters of PZChM and prepare lists of the most vulnerable species (invertebrates, molluscs, fish). 4. Assess the ecological risks for marine ecosystems of the Ukrainian sector under the condition of "flowering" of phytoplankton and phytobenthos, which are associated with excess dead organic matter, toxicity, reduced recreational potential and ecological status.
Project
Research of structure and function assemblages` formation in the contact marine ecosystems of Ukraine under the influence of modern anthropogenic factors and climate anomalies. The first stage of the project is devoted to application of existed and elaboration of new indicators of ecosystem status for phyto-, zooplankton, meio- and macrozoobenthos communities.

The aim of the project is to describe the main triggers of the Chinese sleeper expansion in Eastern Europe. To realize the project the molecular studies of the Chinese sleeper, as well as hydrobiological (the role of benthos in its diet) and parasitological studies will be provided. To discover the ecological interactions the studies of diet and parasites will be provided for the local herpetofauna.
