When evaluating human activity within a continuous work process, it is important to take into account not only the psycho-physiological stress at the beginning and at the end of work, but also the physiological costs at intermediate stages of activity. However, in real conditions, it is difficult for a researcher to divide a continuous workflow int...

The expert opinion of a teacher is the most common way to evaluate the creative activity of a student-actor in an actors' school. However, due to the fact, that each teacher has an individual experience and vision of the educational process, the level of subjectivity in assessing the student's performance is high. The activity of an actor on stage...

Some cognitive functions, including those of the highest level, the so-called executive functions, are involved in the ability to perceive and reproduce time intervals and timing, which can be as-sessed by the quality of auditory-motor synchronization. Cerebellum plays crucial role in these functions. When it is damaged, both sensorimotor and cogni...

It is well-known that heart rate increases during inhalation and decreases during exhalation. This phenomenon is called respiratory sinus arrhythmia. Synchronization between heart rhythm and breathing maximizes when breathing at the so-called resonance frequency, which for most people is about 6 breaths per minute. Heart rate variability biofeedbac...

The processes of perception and reproduction of rhythm affect the vast areas of the auditory, motor cortex, prefrontal cortical areas, and also subcortical structures such as the basal ganglia, the cerebellum and others. Perception and rhythm reproduction are most often investigated by the results of a person’s sensomotor synchronization task perfo...

Background. The most simple form of entrainment to a sensory (typically auditory) rhythmic stimulus involves perceiving and synchronizing movements with an isochronous beat with one level of periodicity, such as that produced by a metronome. Children with pediatric cancer usually treated with chemo- and radiotherapy. Because of such treatment, psyc...

Objective. Three-dimensional multiple object tracking (3D-MOT) is a perceptual-cognitive training system based on a 3D virtual environment (Parsons B. et al., 2014). Deep diaphragmatic breathing can improve some cognitive functions (Frewen J. et al, 2013; Peper E., 2016). We assumed, that five or more biofeedback sessions (paced breathing at 6 per...

Mental workload refers to the relation between human cognitive ability and the effort required to deal with special events, including physiological workload, subjective workload, and cognitive workload. The tracking of physiological indicators during task completion would allow critical states of stress or fatigue to be detected in time. The project aimed to demonstrate the possibility and applicability of the real-time assessment of skin conductance and other physiological parameters during task execution and the ability to distinguish situations of different mental workload and stress level.
Project
Timing is fundamental for different aspects of life. The purpose of this project is to find our associations between abilities to maintain and reproduce different rhythmic patterns and executive functions, physiological response, brain activity in athletes. Time estimation and sensorimotor synchronization develop during childhood. So our research also aimed to investigate age-related changes in time estimation and sensorimotor synchronization in children and treated for posterior fossa tumors, ALL, and controls.
Project
Project aims to develop a technology of consumer choice estimation based on multimodal measurements of brain processes.
