To create baseline information on a common migratory avian aerial insectivore from India, which has been reported to be declining in other parts of the world. Challenges being faced by the species are changing land-use practices and climate change. My goal of the research is to find out the barn swallow distribution in India, understanding its breeding and wintering range. Also, understanding nesting ecology in its breeding range in Uttarakhand Himalaya and determine genetic variation between populations in the Himalayan range.
