Target of the project can be expressed as reducing evacuation time, decreasing the number of deaths, identifying appropriate number of crew members and their location during emergency, specifying statistical significance levels of evacuation factors and determining appropriate capacities for life boats and/or liferafts. The level of life safety of passengers will be increased via the the realization of these targets and outputs of the project, namely decision support systems and simulation models. Moreover, results and conclusions, achieved by this project, will provide guidelines for ship design, voyage scheduling and related legislations.
