Introduction
I’m currently working as an assistant professor of earthquake engineering in the K.N. Toosi University of Technology. I’m mainly interested to work on topics related to the seismic resilience, seismic risk assessment, probabilistic modeling and reliability analysis, seismic risk mitigation, structural vibration control, base isolation design, supplemental damping systems, earthquake scenario modeling, artificial ground motion simulation, and statistical analysis of seismic hazard data.

Project
This project deals with the imposed risk on the building, especially vulnerable ones, by the induced seismicity due to the geothermal power plants operation. The project is general research with the focus on the power plants located in Germany. It starts from modeling the hazard probabilistically and then goes through evaluating the performance of vulnerable buildings (old or masonry) under such earthquakes, and finally evaluate the seismic risk and estimate the functionality of such buildings.

The main goal of this project is to propose a method which is capable of designing the vibration control systems through an advanced two-step optimization to reduce the life-cycle cost of the buildings in the probabilistic domain.

In this project, it is attempted to generate a comprehensive probabilistic model which is capable of producing a whole earthquake scenario randomly. In other word, in the first step, this model is able to generate a random event scenario of earthquakes in the life time of buildings including all possible mainshock and aftershocks. Then, for each generated random event, the random synthetic stochastic accelerograms in all three direction are generated. This model is under development for the earthquakes of the Iranian plateau .
