Introduction
I am an Islamic Law Professor at the Faculty of Sharia and Law, the Sultan Aji Muhammad Idris State Islamic University of Samarinda (aka UINSI Samarinda). I obtained my Ph.D. in Law, Societies & Justice from the University of Washington, Seattle, and my LL. M. from the University of Melbourne, Australia, my MA. in Islamic Law and LL.B. Sharia from UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. My research and teaching interests are Islamic Law and its intersection with law and societies in Muslim world.
