My current topic is to understanding the impact on recreational fishing through baiting on freshwate lake. I'm working on the fate of the bait consumed by fish through the analysis of stable isotopes but also on their persistence in the environment. I'm studying in situ the impact of fishing pressure on monitored lakes by carrying out a detailed monitoring of practices and by questioning fishermen about their baiting practices.
The COVID‐19 pandemic has heavily impacted academics’ professional and personal lives, forcing many research groups (labs) to shift from an academic system primarily based on in‐person work to an almost full‐time remote workforce during lockdowns. Labs are generally characterized by a strong lab culture that underpins all research and social activi...
Recreational fishing, through groundbaiting, provides a potentially important trophic subsidy to freshwater ecosystems that could promote eutrophication. To date, our understanding of the role of bait properties on their fate when they are not consumed remains limited. The present study aimed to determine if the C:N:P composition of some of the mos...
High environmental microplastic pollution, and its largely unquantified impacts on organisms, are driving studies to assess their potential entry pathways into freshwaters. Recreational angling, where many anglers release manufactured baits into freshwater ecosystems, is a widespread activity with important socio-economic implications in Europe. It...
Sustainable nature management and ecosystem conservation depends critically on scientifically sound and stakeholder-relevant analytical frameworks for monitoring and assessing ecological condition. Several general frameworks are currently being developed internationally, including the Essential Biodiversity Variables (EBV), and the UN’s SEEA EEA Ec...
