Introduction
The observations support the our hypothesis about the active condensation of atmospheric moisture on the surface of plant leaves and shoots at a temperature below the dew point. The phenomenon is usually observed in the absence of direct sunlight. The accumulation of condensation leads to the Self-Moisturing Effect (SME) - a mechanism capable of ensuring the survival of the plants with a lack of natural precipitation in the form of rain or fog.

Comparison of circadian rhythms of plant leaf temperature and dew point makes it possible to identify time intervals of dew falls. Using the dragon tree (Dracaena draco L.) as an example, it was shown that under arid conditions a CAM plant is able to condense and absorb up to ½ liter of water from 1 m2 of leaf surface cooled below the dew point dur...

The purpose of the work was to experimentally determine the amount of moisture that can condense on the surface of the plant when cooled below the dew point. To estimate the amount of condensed water on a surface cooled below the dew point, a unit with a thermoelectric module with an area of 9 cm2 was assembled. It was established that the water co...

The amount of moisture that can condense on the surface of the plant when cooled below the dew point is experimentally determined. It was found that the water condensation coefficient KC varies in the range from 1.3 to 2.1 mg / (cm2 x hour x deg) depending on the value of relative humidity and air temperature, which corresponds to 156 ... 252 grams...

Changes in the temperature of the surface of the plant were studied to determine the significance of water condensation on the surface of plants and the relationship between this phenomenon and climatic environmental factors. For 30 hours at night, conditions favored the precipitation of fog, and due to a decrease in the temperature of the surface...

The article covers water condensation on the surface of plants. It is suggested, that there are mechanisms capable of ensuring plant survival when lacking natural precipitation in the form of rain or fog. The self-irrigation ability allows botanical gardens to create plant expositions of plants that do not need watering in local conditions, forming...

The value of the observed phenomenon of condensation of atmospheric moisture by cooling the plant leaves and shoots to a temperature below the dew point is largely determined by climatic parameters. Comparison of the deviation of the average monthly temperature of the dew point in the different regions of the world allows us to assert the universal...

Studies conducted at the Subtropical Botanical Garden of Kuban (Utch-Dere, Sochi) pretty much allow to explain the abnormally high drought resistance of Liriope graminifolia Lour. and Ophiopogon japonicus Ker.-Gawl., plants that naturally grow mostly in sufficient humidity. Quite low temperatures of the leaves’ surface allow to effectively condense...

This paper is devoted to some peculiarities of water condensation on the surface of plants . Arguments in support of the hypothesis that in decreasing temperature of leaves and shoots below the dew point, the plant can actively condense moisture from the air, increasing the duration of dewfall are presented. Evening dewfall on plant surfaces begins...
