Using a sample of 521 venture capital investors who fullfilled in total 13,546 investment decision tasks, we investigate whether and how investors located in the United States and Europe differ according to the importance they attach to several decision criteria. Following an exploratory approach, we conduct expert interviews with European and US investors to interpret our findings from a practitioner's point of view.
