SpaceIL’s lunar lander mission Beresheet was launched on February 22, 2019 and impacted its targeted landing site in Mare Serenitatis on the Moon on April 11, 2019. The spacecraft carried a package of scientific instruments including a fluxgate magnetometer and a retroreflector array for laser ranging, as well as a suite of cameras. Orbital measure...
The processes of human learning, understanding, and cognition are at most based on assembling the perceived data with respect to some criterion, classification of the obtained groups and recognition of the relations between the concepts in the groups and between the groups. Statistical tool for such operations is called cluster analysis that is a t...
In the paper, we present a simple model-free algorithm for fast detection of change points in noisy piecewise-constant signals. In the algorithm, the candidate points are recognized using the Haar wavelet transform, and then are checked by statistical hypotheses testing. Such a form of the algorithm allows its application in both online and offline...
In the paper we present a simple algorithm for unsupervised classification of given items by a group of agents. The purpose of the algorithm is to provide fast and computationally light solutions of classification tasks by the randomly chosen agents. The algorithm follows basic techniques of plurality voting and combinatorial stable matching and do...
In the paper we present a new test for comparison of the means of multivariate samples with unknown distributions. The test is based on the comparison of the distributions of the distances between the samples’ elements and their means using univariate two-sample Kolmogorov–Smirnov test. The activity of the suggested method is illustrated by numeric...
Based on the observations of dynamical system, we define partition ξ_ε, which represents dynamical system as good as possible in the sense of its entropy. The suggested method utilizes ε-entropy, ε-capacity, and the introduced ε-information. The resulting algorithm is also useful for defining bin lengths of histograms, especially for multimodal dis...
In this note, we suggest a one-sample version of the recently proposed two-sample test for comparison of the means of multivariate samples. The test checks a hypothesis that the mean of multivariate sample is equal to a certain value with the alternative hypothesis that the mean does not equal to this value. The suggested test is illustrated by ana...
In the paper, we suggest a method for calculating optimal time intervals in the queue analysis. The suggested method processes partitioning of the time interval and utilizes the epsilon-entropy and epsilon-capacity of the partition for finding an optimal partition. Optimality of the partition is specified based on its epsilon-information. The sugge...

In this paper, we suggest an implementation of non-commutative logic and apply its operators for decision-making in a group of autonomous agents. The suggested operators extend the uninorm and absorbing norm aggregators and use an additional asymmetry parameter that defines the "level of non-commutativity". The value of this parameter is specified...

In the report we consider a simple road intersection with traffic lights control and suggest a queueing model of the traffic flow
in the intersection. The suggested model implements the well-known queue with state-dependent departure rates. Using this
model, we define optimal state-dependent scheduling of the traffic lights in the intersection and...

The circadian clock regulates diverse physiological processes by maintaining a 24-h gene expression pattern. Genetic and environmental cues that disrupt normal clock rhythms can lead to cancer, yet the extent to which this effect is controlled by the cancer cells versus non-malignant cells in the tumor microenvironment (TME) is not clear. Here we s...
The tumor microenvironment (TME) comprised of multiple proteins, extracellular matrix (ECM) and various cell types that together promote tumor initiation, progression and homeostasis in a cell-cell communication manner. In this study, we set to understand how the stromal circadian clock supports the cancer cells, specifically the contribution of th...

SpaceIL's lunar lander mission named Beresheet (meaning 'in the beginning' or 'Genesis' in Hebrew) is the first Israeli mission beyond Earth orbit. Originally conceived as an entry in the Google Lunar XPRIZE competition, Beresheet was launched on February 22, 2019 from Cape Canaveral on board a SpaceX Falcon 9. The mission included several science...
This book covers the methods and algorithms for the navigation, motion planning, and control of mobile robots acting individually and in groups. It addresses methods of positioning in global and local coordinates systems, off-line and on-line path-planning, sensing and sensors fusion, algorithms of obstacle avoidance, swarming techniques and cooper...
This chapter provides an introduction into collective behavior in multi‐robot systems. In particular, it considers different types of communication and control in multi‐agent systems, basic flocking rules, and general methods of aggregation and collision avoidance. The control level considers the roles of the agents in the decision‐making process....

Accurate identification and quantification of nucleic acid targets has been a major issue in biological sciences, as such targets reflect, in many cases, the state of the biological system. Specific and predictable immobilization of oligonucleotides and their hybridization with respective counterparts play a fundamental role in design of new oligon...

In the report we present a simple statistical method for comparison and analysis of the trajectories of mobile agents on a plane.
In the work, we address a relation between segments overlapping in Welch periodograms and F-ratio, which is used in the problem of statistical identification of signals. We show that the F-ratio increases with the overlapping that gives a better identification of signals. The obtained results are illustrated by the application of the method to spee...
