Introduction
Alexander Fay is Full Professor and Chair of Automation at Ruhr University, Bochum, Germany. Until March 2024, he was with HSU Hamburg. His main research interests are modeling languages, methods, and tools for the engineering of information models of products, processes and resources. Further research focuses on exploiting these models for the efficient engineering of distributed automation systems. Application areas are production, logistics, energy distribution, buildings and transportation.
