Earlier research showed that cognitive emotion regulation implicitly and explicitly influences our behavior rigorously due to its vast function in controlling the cognition (e. g., Ochsner & Gross, 2005; Abdi, 2007). Despite the significance of this phenomenon in research, few validation studies have been done in other cultures after the developmen...
Crossmodal transfer of learning is a neurocognitive process whereby a learner's experience and knowledge acquired through one sensory mode enable him/her to perform a similar task using a different sensory mode. This study examined the transfer of (mostly) visually acquired knowledge of first- and second-language characters to the tactile modality...
This integrative review rearticulates the notion of human aesthetics by critically appraising the conventional definitions, offerring a new, more comprehensive definition, and identifying the fundamental components associated with it. It intends to advance holistic understanding of the notion by differentiating aesthetic perception from basic perce...
This exploratory study was designed to examine the effects of visual experience and specific texture parameters on both discriminative and aesthetic aspects of tactile perception. To this end, the authors conducted two experiments using a novel behavioral (ranking) approach in blind and (blindfolded) sighted individuals. Groups of congenitally blin...

Objective:
Neuroplasticity enables the brain to establish new crossmodal connections or reorganize old connections which are essential to perceiving a multisensorial world. The intent of this review is to identify and summarize the current developments in neuroplasticity and crossmodal connectivity, and deepen understanding of how crossmodal conne...
The study of school motivation behavior of adolescent is crucial for every culture; but there is no valid scientific tool for measuring the same in Bangladeshi culture. Considering the significance of the School Motivation Inventory (SMI), the purpose of the present study was to culturally adapt the SMI (Indian Bangla version) into Bangla and valid...
The present study investigated crossmodal communication in perceptual discrimination between visual and tactile modalities. Towards this end, the study was conducted on 32 children aged 7-11 years in four schools situated in the city of Dhaka. Two experiments were conducted each in two phases, "tactile to visual" and "visual to tactile" phases, fol...
The study of family environment of children or adolescent is crucial for many culture. Thus there is no valid scientific tool found in Bangladeshi culture. Considering the necessity of the tool, the purpose of the present study was to taken translate the instrument into Bangla and to validate in Bangladeshi culture. 1000 participants were (491 male...
This study aimed to examine the impact of family atmosphere and school environment on adolescents' emotional intelligence and future aspiration. Survey data from 1000 adolescent (Male = 500, Female = 500) students were collected and analyzed about their emotional intelligence and future aspiration. The average mean age of participants is M = 16.43...
Understanding perception and aesthetic appeal of arts and environmental objects, what is appreciated, liked, or preferred, and why, is of prime importance for improving the functional capacity of the blind and visually impaired and the ergonomic design for their
environment, which however so far, has been examined only in sighted individuals.

Humans have a bias for turning to the right in a number of settings. Here we document a bias in head-turning to the right in adult humans, as tested in the act of kissing. We investigated head-turning bias in both kiss initiators and kiss recipients for lip kissing, and took into consideration differences due to sex and handedness, in 48 Bangladesh...
After the publication of Goleman's (1995) best-selling book 'Emotional Intelligence' the term drew attention scholars (Algera, 2011) in terms of ensuring social and universal unity and for study. Reviewing the relevant literature in visual psychophysics and visual neuroscience we propose a three-stage model of directionality bias in visuospatial functioning. We call this model the ‘Perception-Action-Laterality’ (PAL) hypothesis. We analyzed the research findings for a wide range of visuospatial tasks, showing that there are two major direct...
School Engagement (SE) has become a significantly popular topic of psychological research in recent decades. A frequently used measure of SE is the School Engagement Scale (SES) developed by Fredricks, Blumenfeld, Friedel, and Paris (2003). The SES comprises 19 items under three subscales. The aim of this study was to translate the instrument into...
To measure hostile behavior of adolescent is inevitable for every culture. But there is no valid scientific tool for measuring the same in Bangladesh culture. So, considering the significance of the tool, the purpose of the present study was to translate the instrument into Bangla and validate in Bangladeshi culture. A total of 1000 participants (4...
Very few validation studies have been done in other cultures after the development of the FAS by Center for Urban Affairs and Policy Research (1995). So, considering this view of point, the purpose of the present study was to translate the instrument into Bangla and validate in Bangladeshi culture. A total of 1000 participants (491 males and 509 fe...
The Operational Police Stress Questionnaire (PSQ-Op) was developed by McCreary
& Thompson. This study aimed to translate the instrument into Bangla and validate it
according to Bangladeshi Culture. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) of the data from
160 participants (who provided complete responses) identifi ed four factor structures for
PSQ-Op with...
The importance of research on life satisfaction of polices is increasing day by day. One significant measure of life satisfaction of polices is the Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS; Diener, Emmons, Larsen, and Griffin, 1985). The purpose of the present study was to translate the measure into Bangla and validate in Bangladeshi Culture. 210 police...
The importance of the organizational police stress research has increased in recent times. One important measure of organizational police stress is the Organizational Police Stress Questionnaire (PSQ-Org; was McCreary & Thompson, 2006). The purpose of the present study was to translate the measure into Bangla and validate in Bangladeshi Culture. A...
This study examined the impact of Internet addiction (IA) on life satisfaction and life engagement in young adults. A total of 210 University students participated in the study. Multivariate regression analysis showed that the model was significant and contributes 8% of the variance in life satisfaction (Adjusted R2=.080, p<.001) and 2.8% of the va...
The purpose of the present study was to see whether subjective variables have any impact on subjective well-being of police population. Six subjective variables were measured such as job position (job rank), marital status, selfreported socioeconomic status, educational qualification, career interest, and staying with family were included in the st...
Intimacy is an important component of interpersonal relationship. The Miller Social Intimacy Scale (MSIS) was developed (Miller & Lefcourt, 1982) to measure social intimacy, to quantify the degree of emotional closeness a person felt toward another person. The aim of this study was to translate the MSIS into Bangla and validate in Bangladeshi cultu...
The objective of the present study was to investigate whether adolescents’ cognitive distortion and emotion regulation can be predicted by parental bonding. In order to achieve this end, the study was conducted on a sample of 200 higher secondary adolescents aged 16-18. Following standard procedures, the Parental Bonding Instrument (PBI), How I Thi...
The study was aimed at understanding the affective state of Bangladeshi ethnic community in relation to gender and marital status. Towards this end, positive and negative affects of 103 adult indigenous persons were measured. Analysis of data in multiple regressions demonstrated that both gender and marital status are significantly associated with...
Perceptual asymmetry is one of the most important characteristics of our visual functioning. We carefully reviewed the scientific literature in order to examine such asymmetries, separating them into two major categories: within-visual field asymmetries and between-visual field asymmetries. We explain these asymmetries in terms of perceptual aspect...

Two psychophysical experiments were conducted at the horizontal and vertical orientations respectively, demonstrating substantial main effect of configuration, but no effect of offset direction on vernier acuity. In Experiment 1, a pair of horizontal bars were arranged side by side with a large gap between them. The observers were, on average, sign...
Our previous study has demonstrated that in the cardinal orientation, offset detection depends on the relative position of the vernier bars, i.e., how the left and right or upper and lower vernier bars are displaced from each other in space (Karim & Kojima, 2008, 2010). The present study examined whether the fact can be generalized to the oblique o...
