Introduction
Ajit Singh has been teaching economics in Cambridge for nearly 50 years. He officially retired in October 2007 from the Faculty of Economics and was made Professor Emeritus by Cambridge University and a Life Fellow of Queens’ College Cambridge. He has continued to work since retirement. He held the prestigious Central Bank sponsored Tun Ismail Ali Chair at the University of Malaya(2011-12). In 2012, he was appointed as the Dr. Manmohan Singh Chair at Punjab University, Chandigarh in India.
