As the world's energy demand grows, the LNG industry is gaining popularity as a cleaner fossil fuel source. Studies on process enhancement have proposed that retrofitting upfront nitrogen removal (UNR) technologies like the lithium cycle to the cold section, increases the process efficiency, and plant capacity and decreases power consumption. In th...

The use of liquefied natural gas (LNG) has grown over the last decade owing to an increase in the global energy demand. This work presents a pioneering approach for rigorous simulation of an actual cold section of an LNG plant and provides a potential process optimization to achieve a higher production rate (PR) while reducing the specific power co...

Conventional natural gas (NG) liquefaction processes remove N2 near the tail of the plant, which limits production capacity and decreases energy efficiency and profit. Engineering calculations suggest that upfront N2 removal could have substantial economic benefits on large-scale liquefied natural gas (LNG) processes. This article provides an overv...

In this study, the energy efficiency of a novel integrated process including recovery of natural gas liquids (NGL), natural gas liquefaction and nitrogen removal unit (NRU) is investigated. This study designs a prevailing single column NRU, considered as the base case and a double-column NRU integrated processes in conjugation with boil-off gas (BO...

Various compositions of nontoxic biodegradable poly(lactic acid) (PLA)/chitosan-graft-lactic acid oligomer (CH-g-OLLA) bionanocomposite films were fabricated with a solution casting technique by the dispersal of CH-g-OLLA copolymer at different amounts (1, 3, and 5 wt %) into the PLA matrix. The filler (CH-g-OLLA) was synthesized by an in situ cond...

Question
I am trying to connect MATLAB and Aspen EDR. I need the ProgID.
Question
I am simulating a flowsheet with 2 absorbers columns and 7 recycles. The product of one absorber column is feed to the second absorber column.
Should I change the calculation order of the recycles to ensure that hysys solves the stream in sequence ?
How to know which recycle stream is in outer and inner loop ?
Question
I am carrying out simulation based optimization by connecting MATLAB and Hysys using Activex. Hysyslib is used to connect hysys and MATLAB
I am deploying genetic algorithm to carry out optimization. the optimization is running smoothly for some time and then the simulation file crashes . I took the images of task manager to understand the problem of memory flow. How can i debug the file and understand the reasons for crash ?
Question
trying to learn gPROMS. coding the tubular reactor model, but getting my model as singular.
Question
I have 2-D dynamic gas-solid reaction model, with variables( temperature, pressure, velocity) varying in radial and axial directions.
The fluid and solid phase are not in equilibrium and momentum balance is governed by Ergun's equation.
How can I model this problem ?
Can gProms or COMSOL be used or I need to discretize the PDE and solve it using MATLAB ?
Question
It is observed that lithium readily reacts with nitrogen in presence of moisture. Pretreated lithium with moisture also reacts readily with dry nitrogen gas at ambient conditions. What is the kinetic model.
Is there any model available which can resemble reaction between lithium and dry nitrogen.
