Introduction
Niumai's current project is "Trafficking of Girls and Women in North East India" funded by ICSSR, New Delhi.
Her 2016-17 project was on Feminine Hygiene: An Empirical Study in Hyderabad. From 2013-14, her research was focused on “Promoting Public Health Through Philanthropy: A Study of Indian Diaspora in United States.” It attempts to map the Indian Diaspora Philanthropists and Non-profit Organisations (NGOs) that promote public health in India as well as in US. This study will ethnographically map the philanthropists by untangling the visible and invisible relationships with the local beneficiary community.
