Introduction
Aitor Ibáñez Alonso (1991) is a young researcher with expertise in Global Criminology, particularly in the illegal wildlife trade and organised crime. He recently graduated Cum Laude in MA in Global Criminology (2020) at Utrecht University with a research thesis on the illegal trade in European eels. He is currently interested in further developing his academic career in green criminology, in particular the relationship between the illegal wildlife trade and the outbreak of zoonotic diseases.
