Water scarcity poses a major challenge for the next generation. Additionally, increasing agricultural and industrial activities are creating an unprecedented demand for freshwater supplies throughout Egypt. The Nile River serves as Egypt’s primary water source, accounting for 69.4% of the total water resources. Moreover, Egypt's annual share of wat...

In the present study, a modified pyramid-solar-still (MPSS) with new multiple stepped basin areas was investigated in the weather conditions of Qena, Egypt, at a location of (Latitude: 26.16°, Longitude: 32.71°). Boosting the output of the pyramid solar still is the primary focus of the proposed strategy. To achieve this, four basins were built and...

The goal of this study is to optimize and examine the effect of different rim angles and focus lengths on the performance of a solar parabolic dish. To achieve these goals, a solar parabolic dish concentrator was constructed with different focus point positions and tested under the climatic conditions of the Upper Egypt region in Qena city, with th...

Clean water is quickly decreasing as the necessity for it rises year after year. Desalination of seawater is the only means to remedy this problem. The scientific community has focused on solar powered salty water desalination devices as a clean alternative throughout the last few decades. Solar stills convert solar energy into the heat required to...

The paucity of freshwater is very dangerous in the coming years. Many coastal countries suffer from a scarcity of freshwater. Solar desalination is the cheapest way to produce freshwater from any type of non-drinkable water (brackish water and seawater). In this work, single-slope single-basin solar still for seawater desalination was examined unde...

Freshwater scarcity appears clearly in coastal areas of Egypt despite the existence of a large amount of seawater around. Solar still is the cheapest and oldest way to desalinate seawater and brackish water. In the proposed study, single-slope solar still was examined in the climatic conditions of Qena, Egypt (Latitude: 26.16°, longitude: 32.71°)....
