Hyperspectral sensors offer the opportunity of analysing the chemical and physical composition of the remote sensed scene thanks to their ability of measuring the spectrum of the observed pixels in a large number of contiguous and narrow spectral channels [1]. Despite the technological advances, hyperspectral satellites are still poorly represente...

We release a new global catalog of impact craters on the Moon containing about 5 million craters. Such catalog was derived using a deep learning model, which is based on increasing the spatial image resolution, allowing crater detection down to sizes as small as 0.4 km. Therefore, this database includes ~69.3% craters with diameter lower than 1 km....

Context . The absolute flux calibration of a planetary camera is pivotal for a quantitative analysis of the brightness that is reflected by a celestial body to a) characterise its microphysical properties, b) analyse changes caused by exogenic or endogenic activity, and c) produce high-quality image mosaics to understand the geology of the body. Th...

The study of Equatorial Layered Deposits (ELDs) on Mars is particularly significant as they might retain information about past environmental and climatic conditions. Moreover, the quasiperiodic bedding observed in these deposits indicates cyclic environmental changes during their deposition. In this abstract we report three different cases across...

Studying planetary field analog environments is a key point in order to define the physical and chemical parameters that favor life on Earth and other planets. Terrestrial hydrothermal springs have long been considered among the most significant planetary analogs searching for traces of life on Mars. Hyperspectral data have been recognised to be mo...
