Introduction
Adrian Ruicanescu currently works at the Taxonomy and Ecology, Institute of Biological Research, Cluj-Napoca, branch of National Institute of Research and Development for Biological Science. The first specimen of Dicerca furcata has been found and collected in a birch rare forest in the Harghita county area. This specimen is the first one found after the year 2000. A short description, and a comparison with the close looking species D. alni are given. The paper is supplemented with information on the biology, ecology and distribution.
