Conference Paper

The purpose of the paper is to present the state of the art of acquisition algorithms for GNSS signals, particularly Galileo E1, and to propose a novel, resource saving method, employing circular correlation. The results are compared against the performances of the traditional method of linear correlation and the benefits are highlited.

Galileo, the future European Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), is designed to transmit Open Service navigation signals within the L band, in the El subband. Europe launched its first two operational satellites for Galileo on 21 October 2011. Since then it has launched four additional satellites into orbit. In total, Galileo will consist o...
Conference Paper
This paper presents an analytical study on the outage performance of dual-hop amplify-and-forward relaying systems operating over flat Nakagami-m fading channels. More specifically, the cumulative distribution function (CDF) of the end-to-end signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is derived. We consider the case of non-integer values for fading shape factors...
Conference Paper
In this paper we propose a new detector for the spatial modulation (SM) receiver. In trellis coded spatial modulation (TCSM) schemes, the joint detection is used for identifying both the antenna index and the transmitted symbol. We define a hybrid maximum-likelihood (ML) SM detector, which determines the transmit antenna index soft estimate and the...

In this paper, recursive convolutional encoders over Galois field GF(2N) are used as constituent codes in a parallel turbo trellis coded modulation (turbo TCM) scheme. These encoders are designed using the nonlinear left-circulate (LCIRC) function. The LCIRC function performs a bit left circulation over the representation word. An optimum 1-delay G...
Conference Paper
In this paper, parallel turbo phase shift keying - trellis coded modulation (Turbo PSK-TCM) schemes are designed using recursive convolutional encoders over Galois field GF(2N). These encoders are designed using the nonlinear left-circulate (LCIRC) function. The LCIRC function performs a bit left circulation over the representation word....

In this paper, parallel turbo quadrature amplitude modulation - trellis coded modulation (Turbo QAM-TCM) schemes are designed using recursive convolutional encoders over Galois field GF(2 N). These encoders are designed using the nonlinear left-circulate (LCIRC) function. The LCIRC function performs a bit left circulation over the representation wo...
Conference Paper
For iterative detection/decoding turbo schemes List Sequential (LISS) detection is an effective technique which contrary to a posteriori probability (APP) equalization offers a much smaller complexity almost independent of the number of states. It uses a metric containing a priori and channel values, a metric length bias term for speeding up the tr...
Conference Paper
In this paper, we present a low complexity iterative receiver for packet data transmission over time-varying frequency-selective fading channels. In the receiver, the minimum mean square error (MMSE) filter based equalizer and channel decoding are jointly optimized in an iterative process. Also, linear channel estimation is performed iteratively us...
